Established in 2010
With more than 25 years in the radio industry, Geoff's passion for music goes back to his school days, when he played in bands across Wollongong, Sydney and Brisbane. He caught the radio bug after moving to Brisbane in 1980, completing the AIR TV radio course with John Knox and Jim Iliffe at 4BK and Channel 9.
Geoff moved to Toowoomba in the late 1980s, joining 4AK's award-winning Breakfast Show alongside Terry Kerr. From there, his career took him through 4GR, 4WK, and stations in Rockhampton, Charleville and Kingaroy — building a deep knowledge of regional Queensland radio along the way.
In 1996, Geoff purchased his own radio licence and launched Info FM (88 FM Tourist Radio). The station evolved into Double 8FM in 2004, and in 2010 Geoff teamed up once again with Terry Kerr to establish the Power FM Group.
Locally owned and operated from Toowoomba, the Power FM Group is built for music fans aged 40 and over. Geoff has also founded two shopping centre radio stations in Toowoomba and the ON AIR radio school, where students gain hands-on broadcasting experience while training to commercial radio standards.
Kevin Howarth — better known as Krazy Kevin — grew up in Oldham, England, where his DJ career kicked off as a teenager spinning in pubs and clubs across the UK. His talent and infectious energy earned him the UK DJ of the Year title, followed by back-to-back wins as UK Personality DJ of the Year. From there, his trade took him across Italy, Germany, Iceland, Holland, Hong Kong and Dubai, before settling in Bahrain — the Pearl of the Persian Gulf.
In Bahrain, Krazy Kevin was invited to audition for Radio Bahrain and went on to host the prestigious Breakfast Show, loving the daily banter, quizzes and calls from listeners across the region's cultural melting pot. His profile grew quickly, and he soon added FMTV Hits to his résumé — a live television show broadcast by satellite across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
When the Asian Tsunami struck in 2005, Kevin found himself speaking on air with victims and families as the tragedy unfolded. Moved to act, he rallied entertainers, musicians, businesses and volunteers to stage an all-day benefit concert that raised more than $100,000 AUD, plus a 'shave your head for charity' event that added another $20,000. He still calls it the proudest moment of his career.
After 12 incredible years in Bahrain — including a Drive Time slot and hosting Music Mania on TV — the call of family brought Kevin to Toowoomba in early 2011. He arrived on the very day the inland tsunami devastated the Lockyer Valley, and was struck by the resilience and spirit of the community. He's called the Darling Downs home ever since.
Krazy Kevin runs his own DJ, Compere and MC business, and there aren't many weddings, parties or events around Toowoomba and South East Queensland that haven't had a dose of his energy. In 2017, he was appointed the official Toowoomba Town Crier, and holds the world record for the Loudest Cry at 101.7 decibels — you'll spot him (and definitely hear him) at most major public events across the region.
